Short bio
Georg Fuerlinger is Head of the Austrian Trade Commission Office in San Francisco, Austria’s Trade Promotion and Innovation Agency, and Co-Director of Open Austria in Silicon Valley. He supports Austrian companies and organizations with their US market entry strategy as well as with technology, partner and investor scouting.
Through the GoSiliconValley initiative pre-selected Austrian startups came to Silicon Valley to connect with customers, partners, mentors and investors. He organizes business and policy-led delegations with his team and is hosting technology and innovation events in Silicon Valley.
Prior he conducted research at the Austrian Institute of Technology and worked at Stanford University’s Startup Accelerator StartX in Silicon Valley. He was also Adjunct Professor at the Entrepreneurship Center of the New York Institute of Technology and managed a European exchange program for entrepreneurs.
Georg co-authored the book “Beyond Silicon Valley” and publishes and presents in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems. He is currently writing his PhD (The Impact of Human & Social Capital on University Startup Performance: Evidence from Entrepreneurship Ecosystems in the USA and Europe).
