Your NGI-related portfolio: The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) is a research center that creates a platform where academia, government, and industry can experiment, validate, and test new technologies and approaches to accelerate fundamental research and innovation on wireless communication cybersecurity, aligned to different verticals. CCI operates as a distributed research center across Virginia, with the headquarter at VT coordinating four regional nodes across the state. Each node of the CCI is focused on specific verticals, and all of them can accommodate a diverse range of applications, e.g., Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), power grids, manufacturing processes, transportation, port, warehouse, smart city, health, and cybersecurity. The research center provides an open and interoperable state-wide experimentation platform for advanced wireless network communications, towards developing a flexible and programmable experimentation platform. CCI is also actively working to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities for automation and support zero-touch network management and orchestration.

The 30-months project NGIatlantic.eu will push the Next Generation Internet a step further by providing cascade funding to EU-based researchers and innovators in carrying out Next Generation Internet related experiments in collaboration with US research teams.
